Description: CX Fastplug 112 is supplied as a ready to use the blend of dry powders which requires only the addition of clean water at the site to produce a highly consistent, rapid setting mortar which is easy to apply in many difficult conditions. The material is based on a blend of cement, graded aggregates, special fillers and chemical additives which control the rate of set and minimize the risk of thermal cracking.

Design criteria: CX Fastplug 112 can be applied to the horizontal, vertical or overhead surface at a wide
range of thickness. Generally, the volume of mixed material used in a single application is restricted to
that which can be applied by trowel or gloved hand. Thicker sections can be built up in layers. If any
doubt arises about the nature of the substrate, consult the local CHEMAX office for further information.

Note: Set times will be extended when mixed or applied at lower temperatures.
Compressive strength: 25N/mm 2 @ 28 days @ 30 0 C
Heat generation characteristics: High heat output (exotherm) leads to undesirably high shrinkage and consequent thermal cracking. The curves below show the low heat output of CX

Description: CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 is blend of organic polymers and is supplied as a brown liquid instantly dispersible in water. CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 has been specially formulated to give high water reductions upto 25% without loss of workability or to produce high quality concrete of reduced permeability

Properties:

• Specific gravity: 1.220 at 27 0 C
• Chloride content: Nil
• Air entrainment: Approx. 1.5% additional air is entrained
• Compatibility: Can be used with all types of cements except high alumina cement. CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 is compatible with other CHEMAX admixtures when added separately to the mix. Site trials should be carried out to optimize dosages.
• Workability: Can be used to produce flowing concrete that requires no compaction. Some minor adjustments may be required to produce high workable mix without segregation.
• Cohesion: Cohesion is improved due to dispersion of cement particles thus minimizing segregation and improving surface finish.
• Compressive strength: Early strength is increased upto 40 to 50% if water reduction is taken advantage of. Generally, there is improvement in strength upto 20% depending upon W/C ratio and other mix parameters.
• Durability: Reduction in W/C ratio enables increase in density and impermeability thus enhancing durability of concrete.

Application instructions:

Dosage: The optimum dosage is best determined by site trials with the concrete mix which enables the effects of workability, strength gain or cement reduction to be measured. Site trials with CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 should always be compared with mix containing no admixture. As a guide, the rate of addition is generally in the range of 0.5 - 1.5 % by weight of cement.

Over dosing: An over dose above the recommended level of admixture may result in high workability, air entrainment and retardation of setting time depending on the ambient temperature of cure. As such, more than the recommended dosage may be used if necessary by ascertaining the performance in the lab trials only before using in actual site conditions.

Dispensing: The correct quantity of CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 should be used by means of a dispenser. The measured quantity of CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 should be added along with the gauging water in case of batching plants. Alternatively, correct dosage should be used with about 20% of the total water in the last phase after the mix has been prewetted.

Estimating:

Packing: CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 is supplied in 20 and 200 liter drums.

Storage: CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months when stored under normal temperatures. It should be protected from extreme temperatures and preferably stored in shade.

Precautions:

Health & Safety: CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 is non-toxic. Any splashes on the skin should be washed immediately with water. Splashes to the eyes should be washed immediately with water and medical advice should be sought.

• And kept drying
• The applied surface kept it open for dry for 30 minutes under normal weather condition and then further for 24 hrs

Description CX Crackplug 113 is a crack sealing cementitious material in powder form. It is easy to apply and can be finished or smoothened off with a putty blade or a damp sponge. It sets quickly on the application and can be overcoated with common paints/coatings.

Application instructions

• Surface Preparation The cracks to be sealed shall be saw cut or chiseled to form a V groove of approximately of 6mm x 6mm. The grooves shall be cleaned to remove all the loose particles, dust, etc. The groove shall be sprinkled with clean water before applying the sealing mortar.
• Mixing CX Crackplug113 shall be mixed with water adopting w/p ratio 0.36 by weight or a mix proportion of 1 part of water to 2.5 - 3.0 parts of RECON CS, by volume. Thorough mixing shall be carried out till a smooth, homogenous paste is obtained.
• Application The mixed paste is filled into the groove by gloved hand and the surface finished using a
• putty blade. This is continued till the full length of crack is sealed.
• Curing Curing is necessary only when groove size exceeds 6mm width or in areas exposed to UV.
• Cleaning Tools may be cleaned with clean water as CX Crackplug 113 is a cement based product.

 

Limitations CX Crackplug 113 crack sealer cannot be used for moving cracks and for crack width greater than 30mm.

Precaution

• Health & Safety instructions CX CRACKPLUG 113 has no health hazards in normal use. Gloves shall be worn while mixing and during application. Splashes of material to the eyes shall be washed off with clean water. In the event of prolonged irritation, medical advice shall be sought.
• Fire CX Crackplug 113 is non flammable

Uses: For bonding new cementitious materials to existing cementitious surfaces. For use on horizontal surfaces an on vertical surfaces where mortar or concrete can be supported by formwork. Ideal for extensions and repairs to structural concrete in buildings, loading bays, bridges, roads, bonded or granolithic floor toppings etc.

Barrier coat: Acts as a 'barrier coat' to the migration of chloride ions from host concrete.

Description: Chemax Epbond is based on solvent free epoxy resins containing pigments and fine fillers. It is supplied as a two-part material in pre-weighed quantities for ready onsite mixing and use. Colored components -white base and green hardener - provide visual evidence that adequate mixing is achieved.

Design criteria: Chemax Epbond is designed with an overlay time of 10 hrs at 20 0 C, 6 hours at 30 0 C making it more suitable for use where additional steel reinforcement and formwork has to be fitted or where temperature is high. The minimum application temperature for Chemax Epbond is 10 0 C. Consult the local Chemax office for further information.

Specification clauses: The bonding agent shall be CHEMAX EPBOND an epoxy based two component resin systemprepacked in distinct colors to give visual evidence for proper mixing. The bonding agent should remain in tacky state after application for a minimum period of 6 hours at 300C. There shall not be bond failure of the specimen when tested by slant shear method according to BS 6319 pt 4, with M30 concrete.

Application instructions:Preparation: All surfaces to be treated must be firm, dust free and clean. All laitance should be removed by etching with re cleaner and wire-brushing. In some cases, the existing concrete must be chipped to a sound substrate. Where surfaces are contaminated with oil or grease, this should be removed by using a strong industrial detergent or organic degreaser. Surface should be washed thoroughly with water and dried before the application of CHEMAX EPBOND.

Mixing: The entire contents of the hardener can should be poured into the resin container and the two materials thoroughly mixed until a uniform color is obtained. To facilitate application at temperatures below 10 0C the separate components should be warmed in hot water to a maximum of 250C before mixing.

Coating: Mixed CHEMAX EPBOND should be brush applied to the prepared surface. The new concrete should beplaced within 6 hours at 300C to the CHEMAX EPBOND coated substrate, when it is in a tacky state.

Limitations: CHEMAX EPBOND should not be applied when the temperature is below 100C. If any doubts arise concerning temperature or substrate conditions, consult the local CHEMAX office.
