Chemax GP2 is supplied as a ready to use dry powder. The addition of a controlled amount of clean water produces a free-flowing, non-shrink grout for gap thicknesses up to 100mm. Chemax GP2 is a blend of Portland cement, graded fillers, and chemical additives which impart controlled expansion in the plastic state whilst minimizing water demand. The low water demand ensures high early strength. The graded fillers are designed to assist uniform mixing and produce a consistent grout.

Usage
Chemax GP2 is used for precision grouting where it is essential to withstand static and dynamic loads. Typical applications would be the grouting of base plates of turbines, compressors, boiler feed pumps etc. It can also be used for anchoring a wide range of fixings. These include masts, anchor bolts and fence posts.

Advantages
  • Gaseous expansion system compensates for shrinkage and settlement in the plastic state
  • No metallic iron content to cause staining
  • Pre-packed material overcomes onsite batching variations
  • Develops high early strength without the use of chlorides
  • High ultimate strength ensure the durability of the hardened grout
  • Free flow ensures high level of contact with load bearing area

Properties

  • Tensile strength(W/P - 0.18) 3.5N/mm 2 @ 28 days
  • Pullout bond strength(W/P -0.18) 17 N/mm2 @ 7 days, 20 N/mm2 @ 28 days

Time for expansion (after mixing)
  • Start 20 minutes
  • Finish 120 minutes
  • Fresh wet density Approximately 2220kg/m 3 depending on actual consistency used
  • Young's modulus 28 kN /mm 2
  • Coefficient of thermal expansion 11 x 10 -6/ 0 C
  • Unrestrained expansion 2 - 4 % of the plastic state enables to overcome shrinkage

Application instructions
Preparation

  • Foundation surface The substrate surface must be free from oil, grease or any loosely adherent material. If the concrete surface is defective or has laitance, it must be cut back to a sound base. Bolt holes and fixing pockets must be blown clean of any dirt or debris
  • Pre-soaking Several hours prior to placing, the concrete substrates should be saturated with fresh water. Immediately before grouting takes place any free water should be removed with particular care being taken to blow out all bolt holes and pockets
  • Base plate It is essential that this is clean and free from oil, grease or scale. Air pressure relief holes should be provided to allow venting of any isolated high spots
  • Leveling shims If these are to be removed after the grout has hardened, they should be treated with a thin layer of grease
  • Form-work The form-work should be constructed to be leak proof. This can be achieved by using foam rubber strip or mastic sealant beneath the constructed form-work and between joints. In some cases it is practical to use sacrificial
semi-dry sand and cement form-work. The form-work should include outlets for pre-soaking
  • Unrestrained surface area This must be kept to a minimum. Generally the gap width between the perimeter form-work and the plate edge should not exceed 150mm on the pouring side and 50mm on the opposite side. It is advisable, where practical, to have no gap at the flank sides

    Mixing and placing

    • Mixing For best results a mechanically powered grout mixer should be used. When quantities up to 50kg are used, a heavy duty slow speed drill (400-500 rpm) fitted with a paddle is suitable. Larger quantities will require a heavy duty mixer. To enable the grouting operation to be carried out continuously, it is essential that sufficient mixing capacity and labor are available

CX Easy Mold EX is supplied as a pale amber liquid which turns white when diluted with water to produce a chemical release agent, combining the outstanding release properties of such materials with the economy of conventional oil. It reacts with the alkali in the concrete to form a thin water repellent skin on the
surface of the mold which enables easy stripping from the hardened concrete.

      Uses:
For easy and stain free release of concrete molds and form-work of all types. Particularly where wooden form-work is used and De-molding or stripping times exceed 24 hours.

      Properties:
      • Dilution rate: 1 part CX Mold Release EX: 6 parts clear water (by volume)
      • Form-work surfaces: May be used on wooden or metal surfaces. Particularly effective on resinous coated surfaces
      • Non-staining: Can be used safely with white cement
      • Specific Gravity: Typically 0.960 at 25°C

      Application instructions:

      • Mixing: First dilute CX Easy Mold EX. concentrate in the proportion of 1:6 with water, using a clean container and stirring thoroughly until evenly mixed. If the solution is not used the same day, it should be stirred again before use and may require very good stirring after 5 days
      • New Moulds: No preparation is normally necessary Metal molds showing signs of rust, must be wire brushed or Treated with emery cloth and burnished clean before coating
      • New timber: Plywood will give superior results
      • Used molds: Must be thoroughly clean and free from old concrete, dirt, cement laitance, old mold oil and other contaminations. Use a strong detergent for removal of oil and grease; Recliner for cement and concrete deposits
      • Application: Apply the CX Easy Mold EX. 1:6 water dilution to the face of the form-work by spray, brush or cloth. Only one coat should be applied (as thinly as possible except on very absorbent new timber where two coats may be necessary for the first application only) and allow to dry. If the form-work is not used for several days, a further coat may be applied. Only a very thin film of CX Easy Mold EX. should be applied. Excess could lead to surface dusting of the concrete. The best results are obtained by applying with a fine mist sprayer. Where a cloth is used, it should first be soaked in the release agent and then squeezed out well before applying. This ensures the thinnest possible film. CX Easy Mold EX. is not generally recommended where remolding is required within 24 hours, although excellent results may be obtained with shorter times
      • Drying time: It is essential that the CX Easy Mold EX. is thoroughly dry before placing concrete. Otherwise, being an emulsion, its performance may be impaired. In condition of high humidity drying times will be much longer than in warm dry conditions
      • Rainfall: It is necessary to protect freshly coated form-work from rain which may dilute the emulsion before it has
dried. After drying the coating will withstand an occasional lightly shower but may be affected by heavy or continuous rain. In such cases, a further coat is advised once surfaces have dried out thoroughly
      • De-molding: De-molding can be carried out in the normal way and no special precautions are necessary.
      • After De-molding: Form-work surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned, but this is normally easy due to the excellent
        release action
      • Before re-use: The cleaned form-work surfaces must be Re-coated with CX Easy Mold EX. each time, in accordance with normal practice.

Generally, the gap between the perimeter formwork and the plate edge should not exceed 75 mm on the pouring side and 25 mm on the opposite side. Formwork on the flank sides should be kept tight to the plate edge. Air pressure relief holes should be provided to allow venting of any isolated high spots
            • Form-work: The formwork should be constructed to be leak proof as EP2 Is a free flow grout. This can be achieved by using foam rubber strip or mastic sealant beneath the constructed formwork and between joints. For free flow grout conditions, it is essential to provide a hydrostatic head of grout. To achieve this feeding hopper should be used - please consult your local CHEMAX office for more details
            • Foundation surface: This must be free from oil, grease, or any loosely adherent material. If the concrete surface is defective or has laitance, it must be cut back to a sound base. Bolt holes or fixing pockets must be blown clean of any dirt or debris
            • Base plate: If delay is likely before placing steel base plates, it is recommended that the underside and edges are coated with EP Prime 25* to prevent rust formation and ensure bonding with the Chemax EP2 grout. All metal surfaces should be cleaned to a bright finish in accordance with Swedish Standard SA 21⁄2 or equal. EP Prime 25 can be applied directly onto newly cleaned steel surfaces even if they are damp

CX Easy Mold has specially formulated the blend of mineral oils and chemicals having release properties which are superior to those of conventional mold oil. The chemicals react with the alkali in the concrete to form a thin water repellent skin on the surface of the mold, thereby enabling easy striping from concrete and acting as a protection to steel and wooden formwork. CX Easy Mold is supplied as a pale straw colored liquid ready for direct application and use.

              Uses:
To provide quick, clean and easy stripping of molds, and form-work and ensure high-quality fair-faced and stain-free concrete.

              Advantages:
              • Ensures easy release, good fair-faced concrete
              • Can be used on all types of form-work
              • Minimizes surface blemishes and staining
              • Minimizes cleaning of shutters before re-use
              • Reduces opportunity of damage to form-work, extending usable life

              Properties:

              • Specific gravity: 0.83 at 27 0 C
              • Service temperature: Suitable for use with steam cured concrete.
              • Form-work surfaces: Equally effective on wood or metal moulds and shutters. Particularly effective on GRP and other resinous coatings including CX Easy Mold coated wooden surfaces
              • Non-staining: Does not stain concrete and can also be used safely with white cement
              • Concrete surface quality: In addition to preventing adhesion of the cement paste to the mold or shutter face, allows air, which would otherwise be trapped, to escape from the face when the concrete is being poured and vibrated. Pockets of air, trapped on the shuttered faces of concrete, are a major cause of imperfections, necessitating remedial work. CX Easy Mold avoids time and money spent on this. The chemical reaction between CX Easy Mold and the cement in a concrete mix produces a strongly hydrophobic surface. This repels surplus water at the interface with the mold and by protecting the concrete from its effects, preserves uniformity of surface texture and color.
              • Re-use of molds: Due to excellent release properties, little or no deposit of cement paste remains on the shutter surface. Minimum cleaning down and further coat of CX Easy Mold renders shutters ready for reuse
              • Economic benefits: On account of the high rate of coverage, the applied cost of CX Easy Mold chemical mold release agent compares favorable with that of conventional mold oil. Having regard to the technical benefits additionally obtained, the overall economy of using CX Easy Mold can be significant.

              Application instructions:

              • Preparation of new molds: No preparation is necessary, but if extensive reuse of timber mold is envisaged, it is advisable to protect all new surfaces with CX Easy Mold. CX Easy Mold protects timber from alkali attack which can result in a very short usable life. For used molds, all traces of cement must be removed together with any surface deposit of previous oils.
              • Coating: CX Easy Mold can be applied by brush, sponge or conventional mold oil-sprayer. If a mold oil-sprayer
is used, care should be taken to ensure that the correct nozzle size is chosen. Stir the contents of the container
thoroughly before use. Apply one coat of CX Easy Mold thinly and evenly over the entire surface. Only the thinnest coating necessary to achieve effective coverage should be applied. Excess application is uneconomical and may lead to surface dusting. Wipe or brush off any particles that may remain on the surface and apply one coat of CX Easy Mold as
previously. If it is required to remove CX Easy Mold completely, a strong industrial detergent should be applied
together with stiff brushing and then thoroughly rinsed with clean water.

                  Surface preparation:
Joint surfaces must be dry, clean and free of all contamination. Glass, metal and other non-porous surfaces must be free of any coatings and wiped clean with solvent. Precast panels using form-release agents other than polyethylene film must be sandblasted or mechanically abraded and dust free.

                  Priming:

CX Joint Sealant PU has excellent adhesion properties even without the use of primer on most common building materials. However, natural stone, paints, coatings and other treatments of surfaces may presents a difficult surface to which to adhere. Due to the number of unpredictable natures of these substrates, a preliminary test is recommended. PU Primer may be required for porous surfaces.

                  Application:
Recommended application temperatures: 5° - 35°C. For easier use or cold weather application we recommend the material is stored at approximately 25°C prior to use. In order to guarantee free movement of sealant in joints, it is imperative that the sealant does not adhere to the bottom of the joint, therefore joint backer rod should be used at the proper depth. Apply appropriate primer to joint sides and observe waiting time to avoid any air bubbles which may arise from the solvent heating under un-cured sealant. Firmly extrude sealant into the joint making sure that it is in full contact with the sides of the joint and with the backing rod at the bottom. Keep the nozzle in the sealant, continue on with a steady flow of sealant preceding the nozzle to avoid air entrapment. Avoid overlapping of sealant to eliminate entrapment of air.

                    • Specific gravity : 1.30 - 1.31 at 300C
                    • Chloride content: At the maximum recommended rate of addition, 3.4 liters/100 kg of cement, the Chloride ion concentration is 0.9% by weight of cement. In unreinforced concrete containing no embedded metal, CX FASTSET AC, at the recommended dosage rates may be used.
                    • Air entrainment: General less than 1% additional air.
                    • Compatibility with other admixtures: CX FASTSET AC is compatible with other CHEMAX admixture but should be added separately to the mix. Reduced air content may result when CX FASTSET AC is used in conjunction with some air entraining agents. Consult CHEMAX if other admixtures are to be used.
                    • Compatibility with other cements: CX FASTSET AC is compatible with ordinary and rapid hardening Portland cement but not high alumina or sulphate resisting cements.
                    • Workability: The addition of CB FASTSET AC without reduction of the water content increases the slump and significantly improves concrete flow characteristics without decrease in concrete strength.
                    • Setting times : Typical results using CX FASTSET AC are given in Table 1.

Chemax Grout A01, A plasticized expanding grout admixture is supplied as a powder. The material is a combination of a plasticizing agent and a gas producing expansion medium. The plasticizing agent allows the use of a reduced water/cement ratio with consequent increased strengths and durability. The expansive medium counteracts the natural settlement and plastic shrinkage of the grout and aids stability and cohesion.

                    Uses:
Chemax Grout A01 is an admixture for cementitious grouts where a reduced water/cement ratio and positive expansions are required. Applications include bed grouting, duct grouting, non-shrink infilling and jointing.

                    Advantages:
                    • Gaseous expansion system compensates for plastic shrinkage and settlement in properly designed cementitious grout
                    • Reduced water/cement ratio mixes in the grout mix ensures low permeability and long term durability in service
                    • Gives grout high fluidity with low water/cement ratio, thus making placement or injection of the grout easy
                    • No metallic iron content to corrode and cause staining or deterioration due to rust expansion in the grout
                    • Composition allows high early strength development in grouts, without the use of chlorides

                    Properties:

                    • Chloride content: Nil
                    • Compressive Strength: The plasticizing action of Chemax Grout A01 allows reduction of the water cement ratios of cementitious grouts whilst maintaining flow properties. This gives improvement in strength and long term durability when cured under restraint
                    • Setting Times: Chemax Grout A01 does not significantly alter the setting times of cement based grouts
                    • Expansion Characteristics: The controlled positive expansion in unset grouts incorporating Chemax Grout A01 grout admixture overcomes plastic settlement when measured. An unrestrained expansion of up to 4% is typical.
                    • Time for expansion: 15 min. - 2 hours. Temperatures above 20 0 C may slightly reduce these times
                    • Compatibility: Chemax A01 is compatible with all types of Portland cement. Chemax Grout A01 may be used in mixes containing certain other Chemax admixtures. Chemax shall be contacted for further information

                    Specification clauses:

                    • Performance specification: All grouting (specify details and areas of application) must be carried out with a cement based grout incorporating a plasticized, expanding powder admixture. The grout admixture must be iron-free and chloride-free and shall be added to the cement grout in the proportion of 225g per 50kg of cement. The grout admixture shall provide an expansion of up to 4% in the plastic grout, by means of a gaseous system. The grout admixture must be stored, handled and mixed strictly in accordance with the
                      manufacturer's instructions
                    • Supplier specification: All grouting (specify details and areas of application) must be carried out using a cement based grout, incorporating Chemax Grout A01 manufactured by Chemax and applied strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's technical data sheet

                    Application instructions:

                    • Mixing: For best results a mechanically powered grout mixer must be used. For quantities up to 50kg aslow speed drill fitted with a high shear paddle is suitable. Larger quantities will require a high volume drum mixer. It is essential that machine mixing capacity and labor availability is adequate to enable the grouting operation to be carried out continuously. This may require the use of a holding tank with provision for gentle agitation to maintain fluidity. The selected water content should be accurately measured into the mixer. The cement (and sand if required) shall be slowly added to Chem Grout 100.

                        • Type and dimension of bar

The following formula may be used to determine the minimum depth of installation for Type 1 rebar bolts, to ensure the shear stress within the concrete is kept within the limits set out in BS 8110.

                        Minimum Hole Depth(mm) = (0.6 Y/SPd 2 )*(Pd 12 /4) = (0.15 Y*d 12 /S d 2 )

                        • where Y is characteristic yield strength of steel (460 N/mm 2 )
                        • S is permitted shear stress in concrete (N/mm 2 )
                        • d 1 is bar diameter (mm)

                        Priming:
CX Joint Sealant PS: Requires CX Joint Sealant PS Porous Primer for substrates such as brick, concrete, natural stone, stained timber frames, unglazed tile edges. For non-porous surfaces CX Joint Sealant PS Non-Porous Primer is required for substrates such as stainless steel, glass, glazed tile. Due to the number of unpredictable natures of these substrates, a preliminary test is recommended. It is recommended to seek advice for primer requirements for specific applications.

                        Application:

                        • Recommended application temperatures: +5° - +40°C.
                        • Apply appropriate primer to joint sides and observe waiting time.

In order to guarantee free movement of sealant in joints, it is imperative that the sealant does not adhere to the bottom of the joint, therefore joint backer rod or bond breaker tape should be used at the proper depth. Mix the base and the curing agent.CX Joint Sealant PS can be poured directly from the can in to the joint or can be poured in to a barrel applicator and extruded into the joint from the applicator. Pour or firmly extrude sealant into
the joint making sure that it is in full contact with the sides of the joint and with the backing rod at the bottom.

Light tooling is recommended to ensure no air is trapped in the sealant. For trafficked joints a recessed joint is
                        recommended.

                        Health and Safety:
The curing agent of CX Joint Sealant PS contains manganese dioxide. Ensure that protective gloves, overalls and protective footwear are worn at all times when handling the material. Avoid skin contact.

CX Supeercure W is a white, low viscosity water based which incorporates a special alkali reactive emulsion breaking system. This system ensures that the emulsion breaks down to form a non-penetrating continuous film immediately upon contact with a cementitious surface. This impervious film prevents excessive water evaporation which in turn permits more efficient cement hydration, thus reducing shrinkage and increasing durability. Once formed, the membrane will remain on the concrete
surface until eventually broken down and eroded by natural weathering. Where it is required to apply a further treatment to such concrete surface, it may be necessary to remove the membrane remaining after curing by wire brushing or other Mechanical means. The use of curing membranes on internal floor slabs is generally to be avoided where additional surface finishes are to be applied. CX Supercure W is however ideal where the concrete surface of a floor slab is to be left as 'finished'.

                          Advantages:
                          • Single application: Forms moisture barrier for whole of the curing period
                          • No other curing necessary: Eliminates use of water, Hessian or sand, completely
                          • Reliable: No risk of erratic or poor curing and ensures that cement hydrates efficiently
                          • Ensures hard-wearing surface: Minimizes risk of drying shrinkage, cracks and dusty surfaces
                          • Easy and sage spray application: Non-toxic and nonflammable

                          Uses:

For spraying on freshly cast concrete, or newly exposed concrete surfaces after removal of form work, to form a temporary membrane which will retain sufficient moisture for effective curing to take place. Used for concreting generally but especially useful for large areas of concrete such as pavements, runways and bridge decks; also for vertical or sloping surfaces as on towers, chimneys, canal linings, columns and beams, where water curing is difficult or unreliable.

                          Properties:
                          Color Bulk liquid: White
                          Minimum application temperature: 10 0 °C

                          Application instructions:

                          • Application:
                          • Exposed concrete slabs: CB SUPERCURE W should be spray applied on to the newly placed concrete slab as soon as possible after it is free from visible surface water, e.g. typically 1 to 2 hours after placing.
                          • Shuttered and precast concrete: CX Supercure W curing agent should be spray applied to all surfaces as soon as formwork has been removed or the element demoulded. In all cases the nozzle of the spray should be held approximately 450mm from the concrete surface and should be passed back and forth to ensure complete and even coverage. The pump pressure should be maintained at a level to produce a fine spray ensuring complete coverage of the surface. Rate of application depends on requirements but is typically within the range of 200 to 285 ml/m2
                          • Equipment cleaning: Immediately after use the spray equipment should be cleaned out thoroughly with fresh water. If the spray nozzle becomes blocked with wax particles these can easily be removed using white spirit or similar fluid

                          Estimating:

                          • Packaging: CX Supercure W is available in 20 and 200 Kg drums
                          • Storage: CX Supercure W has a shelf life of 6 months when stored at temperatures between 5 0 C and 35 0 C. Containers should be kept airtight to prevent surface evaporation. Freezing or prolonged exposure to direct heat or sunlight must be avoided

                              • Workability: Can be used to produce flowing concrete that requires no compaction. Some minor adjustments may be required to produce high workable mix without segregation.
                              • Cohesion: Cohesion is improved due to dispersion of cement particles thus minimizing segregation and improving surface finish.
                              • Compressive strength: Early strength is increased upto 40 to 50% if water reduction is taken advantage of. Generally, there is improvement in strength upto 20% depending upon W/C ratio and other mix parameters.
                              • Durability: Reduction in W/C ratio enables increase in density and impermeability thus enhancing durability of concrete.

                              Application instructions:

Dosage: The optimum dosage is best determined by site trials with the concrete mix which enables the effects of workability, strength gain or cement reduction to be measured. Site trials with CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 should always be compared with mix containing no admixture. As a guide, the rate of addition is generally in the range of 0.5 - 1.5 % by weight of cement.

Over dosing: An over dose above the recommended level of admixture may result in high workability, air entrainment and retardation of setting time depending on the ambient temperature of cure. As such, more than the recommended dosage may be used if necessary by ascertaining the performance in the lab trials only before using in actual site conditions.

Dispensing: The correct quantity of CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 should be used by means of a dispenser. The measured quantity of CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 should be added along with the gauging water in case of batching plants. Alternatively, correct dosage should be used with about 20% of the total water in the last phase after the mix has been prewetted.

                              Estimating:

Packing: CX SUPERCONCRETE 530 is supplied in 20 and 200 liter drums.

                              Application instructions

                              • Surface Preparation The object of the surface preparation is to achieve a clean sound surface with a good mechanical key. All substrates should be cleaned and free of dust, plaster, oil, paint, grease, corrosion deposits, and any other deleterious substances. Laitance should be removed by mechanical means. Smooth substrates must be mechanically roughened e.g. by scabbling, needle gun or grit blasting to provide an adequate key. Corroded reinforcing steel should be exposed around its full circumference and cleaned to remove all loose scale and corrosion deposits. It is always preferable to clean the steel to a bright condition. Use of emery cloth, grit or sandblasting is recommended
                              • Priming Reinforcing steel must be primed with Chemex Primer immediately after cleaning. The concrete substrate should be thoroughly dampened with water and any excess water removed before being primed by thoroughly scrubbing in a slurry coat of 1 volume Chemax SBR Latex 51 to 1 volume water to 3 volumes fresh cement. In order to obtain a smooth consistency, the cement should be blended slowly into the liquids. Stir frequently during use to offset settlement. Avoid 'puddling' of the slurry coat. The topping must be applied on to the wet slurry. If the slurry dries out it must be removed and the clean substrate reprimed

                              Precautions

                              • Health & Safety instructions Chemax SBR Latex 51 should not come in contact with skin and eyes or be swallowed. Protective gloves and goggles should be worn during handling the product. If contact with skin occurs, wash well with soap and water. Eye contamination should be washed thoroughly with clean water and medical advice sought. If swallowed seek medical attention immediately - Do not induce vomiting

Uses: To improve workability and toweling properties of sand/cement mortar mixes during application to increase quality of masonry and plastering.

                                  Features & Benefits:
                                  • Improved moisture retention and bond strength: Slows down drying out of mortar which remains workable longer. Ensures better bond to all surfaces, including ceiling.
                                  • Makes mortar crack resistant: Minimizes drying shrinkage cracks and increases frost resistance in cold climates.
                                  • High workability: Even with harsh sands, makes creamy easy-to-apply mortar.
                                  • Cost saving: Increase yield of the same quantity of sand/cement. Extra coverage normally exceeds material costs.
                                  • Better & safer masonry: Mortar fills joints easily and efficiently and ensures stronger construction.
                                  • Improved appearance: Mortar cuts cleanly from faces of brick, block or stone work.
                                  • Increased productivity: Speeds up work by easy application of mortar.

Description: CX SUPERPLAST 550 Mortar Plasticizer is supplied as off-white to pale yellow liquid which mixes readily with water in any proportions. It is based on internationally recognized chemicals and is free from calcium chloride and similar salts.

                                  Properties:
                                  • Chloride content: Nil
                                  • Compatibility with cements: Can be used with any type of Portland, Super Sulphate, Blast furnace or Pozzolanic cements.
                                  • Setting time: There is no significant effect on the setting of sand/cement mortars.
                                  • Plasticizing action: CX SUPERPLAST 550 Mortar Plasticizer entrains a controlled amount of microscopic air bubbles which increase cohesion and provide lubrication to the sane particles in the mix, thereby imparting improved workability to the mortar. The air bubbles hold the cement/water matrix at the contact surfaces which results in improved bond strengths.
                                  • Frost resistance: Where this is a consideration, that air entrainment appreciably increases the frost resistance of the fully cured mortar and also improves that of fresh mortar, as established by international practice.
                                  • Increased yield: The special action of CX SUPERPLAST 550 Mortar Plasticizer causes the cement particles to disperse evenly throughout the mix, which combined with its air entrainment property, expands the volume of the mortar. Increase in yield for the same quantities of sand and cement is typically between 8% and 18%, depending upon the coarseness or fineness of the sand used. With typical mixes of 1:3 and 1:4 cement: sand, the cost of CX SUPERPLAST 550 Mortar Plasticizer will normally be recovered and, in most cases, a net cost saving will be obtained, as a result of the increased yield.

                                  Application instructions:
                                  • Mixing: CX SUPERPLAST 550 Mortar Plasticizer may be added either direct to an individual mix or to the gauging water, depending upon site convenience.

CX Supercure WB is a white, low viscosity wax emulsion which incorporates a special alkali reactive emulsion breaking system.
CX Supercure WB is however ideal where the concrete surface of a floor slabs is to be left as 'finished'.

                                  Advantages
                                  • Single application Forms moisture barrier for whole of the curing period
                                  • No other curing necessary Eliminates use of water, hessian or sand, completely
                                  • Reliable No risk of erratic or poor curing and ensures that cement hydrates efficiently
                                  • Ensures hard-wearing surface Minimizes risk of drying shrinkage, cracks and dusty surfaces
                                  • Easy and sage spray application Non-toxic and nonflammable

                                  Uses

For spraying on freshly cast concrete, or newly exposed concrete surfaces after removal of form work, to form a temporary membrane which will retain sufficient moisture for effective curing to take place. Used for concreting generally but especially useful for large areas of concrete such as pavements, runways and bridge decks, also for vertical or sloping surfaces as on towers, chimneys, canal linings, columns and beams, where water curing is difficult or unreliable.

                                  Properties

                                  Application instructions

                                  • Application
                                  • Exposed concrete slabs Cx Supercure WB should be spray applied on to the newly placed concrete slab as soon as possible after it is free from visible surface water, e.g. typically 1 to 2 hours after placing
                                  • Shuttered and precast concrete CX Supercure WB curing agent should be spray applied to all surfaces as soon as form-work has been removed or the element demolded.
                                  • Equipment cleaning Immediately after use the spray equipment should be cleaned out thoroughly withfresh water. If the spray nozzle becomes blocked with wax particles these can easily be removed using white spirit or similar fluid
